Product Description Cuisinart DLC-10S , The Cuisinart® Pro Classic Food Processor makes all your favorites, from stir-fries and main course salads to peanut butter and home-made bread.
Amazon.com Review A perfect gift for new homemakers, the food processor has become an integral part of modern cooking, speeding up a multitude of processes, including kneading dough, slicing, chopping, shredding cheese, vegetables and meat, mincing garlic and parsley, mixing batters, and emulsifying mayonnaise. Cuisinart's Pro Classic comes with a 7-cup work bowl, four basic attachments for slicing, shredding, chopping, mixing, and kneading, and also features two feed tube options, one big enough to handle a whole potato. This processor comes with a compact cover for use when the feed tube isn't needed and a pulse control that allows the desired degree of fineness when chopping and puréeing. Remove the detachable stem for compact storage of discs. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and the motor base wipes clean. In addition, a custom-contoured spatula, a 50-page recipe booklet, and a 30-minute video designed to familiarize the new owner with the care and use of the food processor are included. --Victoria Jenkins

LOVE IT March 8, 2010 R. JOHNSON (Michigan) I've had this for over a year now and have shown it no mercy. I even used it to grind meat until I received an electric meat grinder as a gift. This is one tough machine and shows no signs of slowing down. I highly recommend this item for anyone who is interested in a first time food processor purchase (I was) or if you're looking to replace an old one.

This processor gets used every other day on the average. It is reliable and saves me a lot of time. I've heard people complain about cleaning all the parts after using, but it isn't that bad. If you can keep the unit on the counter, so much the better. My folks don't like the way it looks, so they tuck it away in the garage. As a result, they don't use it much. The julian strip blade is a joke; avoid buying this if possible. The french fry blade is not nessary. Just slice with wide blade turn potato 90 degrees and slice again. Enjoy!

I received this for a Christmas gift and it is sheer heaven :-)! I almost settled for a cheaper model and a lesser brand and I am so very glad that I didn't now :-)! The price was great too. Amazon is the best :-)!
DANGEROUS January 13, 2010 Stephanie Z. 5 out of 14 found this review helpful
I had a similar model of Cuisinart food processor, and the blade recently broke off while in use, broke through the plastic container, and flew across the room. As a result of luck only, no one was in its path. Customer service had no real response; they suggested that I pay $20 to replace the broken parts.
An examination of the broken blade shows that this is likely to be a recurring problem with this model and any other Cuisinarts using a similar blade. It is clear that this structural failure is due to a lack of reinforcement of the blades at the point of riveting. The removal of material for the placement of the rivets, the thinness of the material, and the large amount of leverage placed upon the rivets by the longer blades led to the structural failure of the part. This failure could have happened at any time, and could have caused severe injury to the user. The tempering necessary to create blades that stay sharp is the same tempering that makes it impossible to have such thin, un-reinforced parts. The blades should either be made of thicker material, or have a wider section in the area of rivet contact to avoid failure.

I am not much of a chef but I love this machine. I makes easy work of cooking. Cleans up easily. If you buy this product I would suggest buying holder for the blades at the same time. Also, if you fix large meals, get the larger one.
Great machine.
