Longevity is lacking March 5, 2010 Medora Jensen (Vermont) The buttons stopped working. I think it should last more then 3 years. At the price I paid for it. Otherwise it's cheaper to buy it everyday!!
Miss my old Braun... February 19, 2010 KariAtoon (Londonderry, NH) I recently purchased the Braun KF590 to replace my 11 year old Braun coffeemaker. It works fine-makes good coffee once you figure out just how much coffee you need to use to get it "just so" (just so=works for you, since everybody's coffee tastes are unique). I miss the coffee flavor selector my old one had. I have found the right amount of cups to coffee ration, so for me now it's fine. I sought out another Braun because it lasted so long, but it was quite a chore to locate one, and I'm very disappointed in the pricepoint. I guess I could feel better about the 100 bucks if it lasts at least half as long as it's predecessor. And yes, my little filter release button is flaky...apparently it likes to have weight in the basket in order to function properly. After all, it's only plastic, and not a big bother to guide the empty basket out. In the long run, my guidance will help the little button stay intact. So overall, makes pretty good coffee, costs a bit more than it should, keeps it hot longer than 2 hours when programmed (another feature I wanted-I hated being boxed into a 2 hour time frame on my lazy Saturday mornings). I have not experienced the "burned" tase you can get from it being on the hotplate so long, another feature I enjoyed with my old one.Overall, not too bad, unless it breaks...
Great machine! February 14, 2010 R. Huggins I've used it three weeks now and all is well. The machine makes great hot coffee and rather quick too.
Great Coffee February 10, 2010 Nancy J. Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This coffee maker makes the best and most consistent coffee of any I've ever owned. Now that Gillette owns Braun they are very hard to find. I hope the takeover doesn't mean the end of these coffee makers. They're the best for the money!

Over the years, I've had 3 previous Braun's. From what I can find out there, they still make the best coffee maker. I just want a basic coffee maker, no bells and whistles. I've always felt Braun does it right! Simple to use, clean, and maintain. And best of all it makes Great coffee. I just wish they weren't so darn difficult to find. Retail stores either don't carry Braun at all, or the model selection is extremely limited.
