Cuisinart Smart Stick Immersion Hand Blender March 10, 2010 M. Smith (Cathedral City, CA USA) This item is exactly as described and arrived on a timely basis. It does the tasks it is to be used for simply and quickly. I was afraid that it might be damaged because when I opened the outer shipping carton there was not one piece of packing material of any kind. The blender itself was in another much smaller box which was bouncing around inside the outer carton with ANY handling. Thankfully, the blender was not damaged.
The body (the part you hold in yoiur hends) of this item is NOT Brushed Chrome March 7, 2010 Naim Kocak 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes, that is surprising, isn't it? Only the 3/4th of the attachment seems to be metal. The connection assembly is also plastic. The whole blender is quite cheap looking. Hence the negative reviews about this item not being sturdy. I shouldn't have disregarded it before I purchased this item. Absolutely FALSE advertising. Cuisinart and Amazon should be ashamed of themselves. It works well, but I don't know how long it will last to be honest. $30 I spend is too much for this blender.
great baby food and smoothies March 5, 2010 narnar (Truckee, CA) My husband and I are using this to make baby food and smoothies. It works surprisingly well, especially with large, chunky frozen strawberries. We like that it fits in a drawer rather than taking up a lot of storage space like our larger food processor and blender. I also used it to puree a lentil soup. It did an amazing job - blended right in the pot in about 30 seconds. I found making baby food in our larger food processor to be a pain and sometimes the quantity of food was too small for a large processor. This handles 1-3 cups of baby food perfectly. It's easy to clean. The price is great for what you get. Seriously, we often marvel at how awesome this thing is.
Immersion Blender March 2, 2010 Alba Paterson (Winter Springs FL) This was gifted to my daughter who loved working with mine on a visit. Since she lives in Alaska, I was thrilled to find it for her on Amazon -- and she tells me she is happy "blending away" soups, smoothies, sauces et al. Always pleased when a tool works!
haven't put it away yet! February 28, 2010 stella (philadelphia) I ordered this after seeing Emeril make a soup where he used an immersion blender. Having only used a regular blender in the past for pureeing soups (and avoiding making them because of the hassle!)I ordered this immersion blender. I LOVE IT!! It literally has been sitting on my countertop ever since...I use it everyday. It makes easy work of my morning shakes (right in the included plastic container) despite using frozen bananas and other frozen fruits. And I use it at least weekly to make one soup or another. It cleans up easily and is nice looking too. I've read where some complain about the "cheap plastic teeth" at the connection of blades to handle, but if you attach/detach carefully (and always use the special button for it) I don't foresee any problem with the construction. I can't believe I've waited this long to add an immersion blender to my kitchen repertoire...I doubt I'll be pulling out that cumbersome, loud, hard-to-wash freestanding blender anymore!!
